Our Commitment to Accuracy

Accuracy is the foundation of credible journalism. Turnbuckle Dispatch takes factual accuracy seriously and is committed to correcting errors in our published content promptly, transparently, and thoroughly. We believe that how a publication handles its mistakes is as important as how it handles its reporting.

How Corrections Are Made

When a factual error is identified in a published article, we correct the error directly in the text and add a timestamped correction note to the article. Correction notes are placed prominently within the article so readers can see exactly what was changed and when. The original erroneous text is not silently removed; corrections include context about what was wrong and what the accurate information is.

Example format:

Correction (March 15, 2026, 2:30 PM CT): An earlier version of this article stated [incorrect information]. This has been corrected to reflect [accurate information]. We regret the error.

Updates vs. Corrections

We distinguish between corrections and updates:

• Correction: A fix to factually inaccurate information that was wrong at the time of publication.
• Update: New information added to an article after publication that reflects developments occurring after the original story was published.

Both corrections and updates are timestamped and labeled accordingly. Updates are marked with an “Updated” notice rather than a “Correction” notice, so readers can distinguish between errors and evolving stories.

How to Report an Error

In your email, please include the URL of the article containing the error, a description of the error, and any supporting information or sources that demonstrate the correct information. We review all correction requests and respond as quickly as possible.

Timeliness

We aim to address all correction requests within 24 hours of receipt. For significant factual errors that could mislead readers, corrections are prioritized and made as soon as the accurate information is verified.

Accountability

We do not silently edit published articles to remove errors without notation. Transparency in our correction process is essential to maintaining reader trust. If a pattern of errors is identified, we conduct an internal review of our editorial processes to prevent recurrence.
